Ole Miss Benches Laremy Tunsil As Precaution Against NCAA Process
Laremy Tunsil, Ole Miss’ starting tackle and a probable future top-five pick in the NFL draft, was held out of today’s season opener against Tennessee-Martin in what the school called a “precautionary measure.” Tunsil and his stepfather Lindsey Miller filed domestic violence charges against each other after a confrontation in June, where Tunsil punched Miller, allegedly in defense of his mother. They dropped the claims last month, but Miller claimed that Tunsil accepted a ride from an agent that night.
It’s a stupid rule, but Tunsil would technically be in violation of NCAA regulations if it turns out Miller’s allegations are true. The school released the following statement:
