Mandatory Credit: Troy Taormina-Imagn Images Ondrej Lingr scored in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time in his MLS debut and the Houston Dynamo salvaged a 2-2 draw against the visiting Colorado Rapids after giving back an early lead.
Amine Bassi added his second goal before halftime for the Dynamo (1-4-4, 7 points), who brought on Lingr, who completed his move from Slavia Prague earlier this month, in the 75th minute.
The Czechia international's well-placed header spared Houston from becoming the first MLS team to lose four home matches.
Rafa Navarro had put the Rapids (4-2-3, 15 points) in front with his team-leading fifth goal two minutes after Lingr's entrance.
Djordje Mihailovic also added his fourth goal of the season and third from the penalty spot for Colorado, which was looking for its second consecutive victory and third on the road.
Colorado's Zack Steffen made six saves and appeared to be well in control in the dying moments.
But Lingr finished off an excellent sequence just in time to secure a share of the points.
Jack McGlynn cut in from the right and then sent a diagonal ball toward the back post. Fidel Escobar headed the ball back across goal and Linger cleverly angled his run to sneak in front of defender Andreas Maxso and angle a low, bouncing header inside the far post.
Back in the 58th minute, Navarro helped Mihailovic equalize when he was first to a loose ball on the right side of the penalty area, fractionally in front of Femi Awodesu, who clipped him with a late challenge.
Mihailovic stepped up and drove an emphatic penalty past Houston debutant goalkeeper Jonathan Bond, who had little chance.
Then Navarro put his side in front in the 77th minute on a feed from Mihailovic following a Houston turnover in its own half, sliding a low finish on the break underneath the charging Bond.
Steffen then reacted well at his near post just shy of 90 minutes to keep Linger's previous goal-bound effort from leveling the contest.
