One-Handed Florida Freshman Makes College Basketball Debut
Zach Hodskins is a walk-on freshman basketball player at Florida, and he made his season debut in the final two minutes of last night's season-opening 68-45 blowout of William & Mary. Nothing in that previous sentence is all that out of the ordinary, but this is: Zach Hodskins only has one hand. The above video chronicles those two minutes, including his only shot attempt (a running layup he missed) at the 2:08 mark.
Hodskins was born without any of his arm below his elbow but still managed to succeed at basketball, playing at Milton High School in Georgia. He came to national attention after a highlight video of his went viral, and was offered a walk-on spot by Billy Donovan after impressing on an AAU summer tour. A couple of his highlight videos are below.
