Oregon State edges Troy in double OT

Aamer Muhammad's 3-point try at the buzzer fell short for Troy (1-2).
The game included 16 lead changes and 11 ties.
Troy held a 79-78 lead in the second overtime with 38 seconds left after Oregon State's Josiah Lake II made a basket and was fouled but failed to convert the free throw.
Myles Rigsby made one of two free throws for his first point of the game with 23 seconds left, giving the Trojans an 80-78 lead.
Pope, who finished with 16 points, then converted the 3-point play with 6 seconds remaining to give Oregon State (2-0) the victory.
Tyler Bilodeau and Dexter Akanno each had 18 points to lead Oregon State. Bilodeau also finished with 12 rebounds.
Thomas Dowd led Troy with 22 points, including three on a 3-pointer at the regulation buzzer to force overtime.
In the first overtime, Oregon State took a four-point lead twice but Troy rallied for a 70-69 lead with 1:31 left.
Lake made one of two free throw attempts to tie the game.
Randarius Jones' putback on Troy's next possession with 46 seconds remaining put the Trojans ahead 72-70.
Pope's pullup jumper tied the game with nine seconds remaining.
Troy's Victor Valdes missed a hook shot as time expired in the first overtime.
With 1:33 left in regulation, Pope converted a drive to the basket to put the Beavers ahead 59-54.
Christyon Eugene's 3-point play for Troy with 1:09 remaining cut the lead to 59-57.
Bilodeau's fifth foul with 55 seconds left after turning over the ball put Muhammad on the line.
Muhammad made the first free throw but missed the second.
Pope made two free throws with five seconds left to give Oregon State a 61-58 lead.
Dowd then made an uncontested 3-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime.
