Oscar Pistorius Hurt In Prison Fight Over Telephone Use
Photo Credit: Kim Ludbrook/ [object Object] Olympic runner and convicted murderer Oscar Pistorius was hurt in a fight with another inmate that began over the use of a public telephone, a South African prison official has confirmed to the Associated Press.
Pistorius sustained a “minor injury” in the fight and was bruised. The condition of the other inmate was not specified, and the altercation is reportedly under investigation. A report by the Evening Standardclaimed that Pistorius had been taking too long on the phone with others waiting behind him and refused to hang up.
Pistorius, who was a multi-time Paralympic champ before competing in the 2012 Olympics, is serving a thirteen-year sentence for the 2013 murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. He’s maintained that he believed she was a home intruder when he shot her.
