The PARI Universe playoffs began Wednesday with four matches that followed the identical path: The team that lost the opening map captured the next two to pull out a victory.

In the upper-bracket opening round, PARIVISION downed Team Liquid, Team Yandex topped Astra Invicta, OG got past Team Spirit, and GamerLegion defeated LEGION.

The $250,000, 10-team Dota 2 event began with a round-robin group stage, with all matches best-of-three. The top four teams in each group qualified for the double-elimination playoffs, with the last-place team in each group eliminated.

The playoffs also will feature best-of-three matches until the best-of-five grand final on Sunday. The championship team will receive $45,000 for the club, $80,000 for the players.

On Wednesday, Team Liquid logged a 50-minute win on Radiant before PARIVISION prevailed twice on Radiant, in 34 minutes and 64 minutes. Russia's Alan "Satanic" Gallyamov propelled PARIVISION with a 32-7-30 kill-death-assist ratio. Sweden's Michael "miCKe" Vu posted a 23-8-29 K-D-A ratio for Team Liquid.

After Astra Invicta grabbed a 64-minute victory on Radiant, Team Yandex earned a pair of wins on Dire, in 26 minutes and 33 minutes. Kazakhstan's Alimzhan "watson" Islambekov produced a 28-4-24 K-D-A ratio for Team Yandex. Russia's Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko amassed a 24-11-20 K-D-A ratio for Astra Invicta.

LEGION jumped on top in 42 minutes on Dire, only to see GamerLegion claim 30- and 40-minute wins on Radiant. Nicaragua's Yuma "Yuma" Langlet registered a 29-7-28 K-D-A ratio for GamerLegion. Ukraine's Mikhail "Darklord^" Blinov paced LEGION at 17-8-12.
