Pat Tillman Now Leads Arizona State Onto The Field
It's a damn shame that Pat Tillman, killed by friendly fire in an Afghanistan mountain pass, the truth of his death covered up by the Pentagon, tends to be used as a symbol for the exact opposite of what he should be remembered for. But if anyone's allowed to claim and exploit him, I suppose it'd be the Sun Devils.
Last night ASU unveiled their revamped Tillman Tunnel, the portal from the locker room to the field at Sun Devil Stadium. The team's walk takes them past inspirational mottoes, televisions playing Tillman's college highlights, and most notably, through a screen with a photo illustration of Tillman on the field.
ASU opened their season with a 55-0 win over Sacramento State. Here's what the tunnel looks like in solitude. (Photos courtesy Arizona State.)
