Mandatory Credit: Katie Goodale-USA TODAY Network Patrick Reed withdrew from U.S. Open qualifying to snap his streak of competing in every major since the 2014 Masters.
Reed did not tee off on Monday after being listed in the field for a sectional qualifier at Dallas Athletic Club.
Per the USGA, a player who withdraws from a qualifier cannot enter another one at a later date.
Reed, who competes for LIV Golf, finished tied for 53rd place at the PGA Championship this past weekend. He currently is ranked 92nd in the world, due in large part to finishing in a tie for 12th place at the Masters in April.
Reed, 33, won the 2018 Masters, finished tied for second at the 2017 PGA Championship and tied for fourth at the 2018 U.S. Open.
The 2024 U.S. Open is scheduled for June 13-16 at Pinehurst Resort (Course No. 2) in Pinehurst, N.C.
