What they're saying in the untrained Internet business about the Patriots' 27-24 win over the Ravens on Monday ...
• 2 Yards — The Tallest Midget. You know what? F*ck those guys. We came so close to winning — and I had a sneaking suspicion that we wouldn't win — but then we fall 2 yards shy. Stupid salt in the wound 'n stuff...The sad thing? It all came down to Rex Ryan calling a time out. I'd expect it from Billick — but Ryan? The defense stopped the Patriots — dropped 'em for a loss, even. Argh. I will say this, though — this was the best Ravens game since the Super Bowl season I've ever seen them play. [ Ravens Touchdown]
• Live Blogging The Second Half "TIPPED!!!!!! Pick it off!!! It hits the turf. Good lord. 3rd and 5......Incomplete!!!!!!! 4th and 5. This is it......" [ Awful Announcing]
• Unbelieveable Cheats. The way ref's cheat the Baltimore Ravens on their own home field is remarkable. something really has to be done about that. Its not billick or the offense or definitly not the defense. its the whole NFL as a whole someone has to see all well maybe's thats a touch down or maybe its a good field goal or even after so many reviews after plays that a sometimes maybe call would be answered in the ravens favor. some body please help the Ravens stop corporate NFL stop the cheating. • The Great Escape . The New England Patriots were outplayed, plain and simple. But, again, they made the big plays late in the game when they had to, and they escaped Baltimore with a 27-24 win. Somehow, the Patriots persevered. Tom Brady engineered yet another game-winnning 4th-quarter drive, and the potential for the perfect season remains intact, however barely. [ Pats Pulpit]
• Baltimore Ravens: Madness Over Miracles. It's one thing to allow a come from behind victory from the league's best team. It's another thing to collect more yards in penalties than passing in the quarter. It's one thing for the sideline to call a timeout and stifle an amped defense. It's another thing to take any chance away from the offense that was just as amped up. It shows the dissension and lack of cohesion for the Ravens, and the worst part, is that people believed. And had good reason to. [ The Ebony Bird]
• Pats Win 27-24. All I Can Say Is WOW!!!. Oh. My. God. I just came down off the ceiling after the end of that Patriots / Ravens game. Let me tell you, it's kind of hard to go from writhing on the floor to stuck to the ceiling like a cat. [ mr. blackandwhite]
• Pats Escape Baltimore. For a single moment, we were all Ravens fans. ... (Even if secretly — or openly — we would all like to see them go 19-0, if only for the history and to shut up those 1972 Dolphins alumni. Now, if we could only get accompanying quiet from Pats fans, it's something everyone could possibly get on board with. Unfortunately, quiet from Pats fans ain't happening. Ever.) [ Dan Shanoff]
