Paying Tribute To Dear Old Ma
This image was lost some time after publication, but you can still view it [object Object] . At last, a fan running on the field story everyone can get behind. During the Eagles game yesterday, an unidentified fan sprinted onto Lincoln Financial Field to spread the ashes of his dead mother onto the grass. Apparently, this is because he liked his mother, rather than vice versa.
The video — linked on the CBS site — shows the man sprinting to the 50-yard line, letting loose the ashes and then lying prostrate on the Eagles logo, waiting to be arrested. He said his mother always wanted to attend an Eagles game but was never able to before she died, probably because, considering Eagles fans, she wanted to, you know, live. (You see, Eagles fans, they're violent.)
You know what would be crazy? If Greg Gall got no jail time for his drunken rumble onto the field at Paul Brown Stadium, but they threw the book at this guy.
