Penguins Sneak In Overtime Game-Winner, Push Capitals To The Brink
Photo via [object Object] The Pittsburgh Penguins are on the verge of the Conference Finals after a thrilling 3-2 OT win over the Washington Capitals. The two rivals have been punching each other all series long, and tonight was no exception, with Alexander Ovechkin slashing Sidney Crosby and Carl Hagelin going all upside-down style in the first period.
Jay Beagle dinked in a strange little goal to open the scoring.
Nobody scored in the third period, but Patric Hörnqvist nailed the game-winner a few minutes into overtime, and made poor Braden Holtby pretty mad (duh).
The Penguins will migrate south on Saturday for a potentially clinching Game 5.
