Pete Carroll Gets Mowed Down By Referee
In the second quarter of last night’s Broncos-Seahawks preseason opener, Tyler Lockett broke off a 103-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. The Seahawks drafted Lockett, who led all FBS players in yards per punt return in 2014, to break off big returns like this and they were understandably pumped when he did.
Nobody was more enthused than Pete Carroll, a coach who is enthused about everything all the time, as he was so absorbed celebrating Lockett’s return that he didn’t get out of line judge Eugene Hall’s way and went down after a collision. To his credit, Hall maintained his balance while spinning and reaching for the flag he’d throw for unsportsmanlike conduct against the Seahawks bench. What a pro.
