Mandatory Credit: Nick Turchiaro-Imagn Images Eight-time All-Star Bryce Harper was reinstated to the Philadelphia Phillies' active roster on Monday after missing the last 22 games with right wrist inflammation.
During Harper's stint on the 10-day injured list that began June 6, the Phillies posted a 12-10 record yet gained three games on the New York Mets to take a 1.5-game lead in the National League East.
Harper was penciled into the initial Phillies' lineup at first base, batting third between Kyle Schwarber and Alec Bohm, against the San Diego Padres.
The 32-year-old Harper has posted a .258/.368/.446 slash line this season with nine homers, eight stolen bases and 34 RBIs in 57 games. His .814 OPS ties for the second-lowest percentage of his 14-year career.
To make room for Harper the Phillies designated infielder Buddy Kennedy for assignment. Kennedy went 0-for-7 with a walk in four appearances.
