He is likely to return next week, either Wednesday against the Charlotte Hornets or Saturday when the Pistons host the Washington Wizards.
Cunningham played in the first 36 games of the season and experienced just three wins. He was injured Jan. 7 in the first half of a loss to the Denver Nuggets.
The Pistons are 1-4 without Cunningham, the No. 1 pick in the 2021 draft. He's averaging 22.8 points, 7.3 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game this season.
Detroit is 4-37 with the Milwaukee Bucks due in town for a pair of games starting Saturday. The Bucks have won seven consecutive games against the Pistons.
