Plane Carrying Saudi National Team Lands Safely After Engine Catches Fire
credits: Matthias Schrader | source: AP The Saudi Arabian men’s national team flew to Rostov-on-Don today, where they will be playing Uruguay on Wednesday. The plane landed safely despite one of the engines catching fire in the air.
The team’s English-language Twitter account released a short statement just after the plane landed:
A Saudi journalist who was on board was able to capture some footage of the burning engine while the plane was in flight, as well as some photos after it had landed:
Seems pretty terrifying.
