Please Just Call Up Vladimir Guerrero Jr., He's Too Good For The Minor Leagues
source: [object Object] Truly I say to you today: Double-A ball offers no challenge to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. besides that of a blank canvas upon which he can paint wild highlights. The 19-year-old slugger has spent his time with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats smacking big dingers and generally looking like he belongs at a higher level, and today he furthered his case for promotion even more.
Little Vlad went 4-for-5 in this afternoon’s drubbing of the poor Hartford Yard Goats, who maybe shouldn’t have given him any bulletin board material, not that this young lion cares about the opinions of Yard Goats. Two of those hits were doubles, and one of them was this big donger. It’s not clear how far this one went, but the sound, reaction, and listlessness of the outfielders tells you all you need to know: the lad boinked it real far.
Guerrero Jr. is now hitting .414 with seven homers and an OPS of 1.135. It’s high time he became Blue Jay, or at least a Triple-A Buffalo Bison.
