Professional Cyclists Crash Into Road Signs Too, Sometimes
Yoann Offredo would like a re-do. Yoan Offredo would have been better riding offroado. A guy on a bike hit a sign.
French cyclist Yoann Offredo picked the precise wrong moment to look back over his shoulder during Sunday's Paris-Roubaix race. When he faced forward, the pack was parting and he was bearing down on a road sign. He hit it like something out of a Chuck Jones cartoon. He went over his handlebars, and would have to abandon the race.
Today, Offredo tweeted that his injuries were even worse than expected: he fractured his sternum and cracked a few ribs.
