Racing Louisville trade D Carson Pickett to Orlando Pride

Racing Louisville traded defender Carson Pickett to the Orlando Pride on Friday in exchange for $75,000 in general allocation money.
Pickett, who starred collegiately at Florida State, previously played with Orlando from 2018-20.
"First, I want to start off by saying a big thank you to the club for allowing me to continue to live out my dream for the past year and a half," Pickett said in a news release. "Thank you ... for pushing me to be the best player I could be every single day."
Pickett, 30, had two goals and two assists in 43 games (41 starts) since joining Racing in 2023.
"We want to thank Carson for all she has done on and off the field in Louisville," said Racing general manager Ryan Dell. "We wish her the best as she moves closer to family in Orlando."
She recently surpassed 150 career regular-season appearances in her NWSL career, which also includes time with the Seattle Reign (2016-17) and North Carolina Courage (2021-22).
"We're very excited to welcome Carson back to Orlando," Orlando Pride vice president of soccer operations and general manager Haley Carter said in a news release. "She's a player who has proven herself year-over-year in the league and brings additional quality and depth to our backline, including a strong aerial presence."
