Alexis Lafreniere, Gabe Perreault and Tye Kartye each had a goal and an assist as the New York Rangers won their third in a row for the first time since late November, outlasting the Jets in Winnipeg 6-3 on Thursday night.

Adam Fox, Adam Edstrom and Noah Laba also scored for New York. Braden Schneider and Vincent Trocheck both had two assists. Igor Shesterkin made 23 saves.

Winnipeg's Isak Rosen, Kyle Connor and Gabriel Vilardi scored. Connor Hellebuyck made 11 stops.

The Rangers opened the scoring just 68 seconds in when Fox wired a shot past a screened Hellebuyck on the power play.

Winnipeg evened the score at 1-1 at the 2:21 mark of the second period. Rosen picked up his first goal with the Jets when he deflected a puck from the slot that traveled into the net.

The Rangers regained the lead with 12:24 remaining in the middle frame. Lafreniere made it 2-1 when he tipped home a shot from Borgen at the blue line.

The back-and-forth battle continued when Connor danced around New York's defense and snapped a wrist shot past Shesterkin with 2:11 remaining in the stanza to tie the game 2-2.

The Rangers retook the lead 1:15 into the third period when Kartye was left alone while driving toward the net to give his team a 3-2 edge.

New York's upper hand didn't last long once again, as Vilardi pulled the Jets level at 3-3 with a backhand just 3:04 later.

The Rangers went ahead for a fourth time after Perreault finished off a quick cycle with a tap-in just 2:38 after New York had surrendered the lead to make it 4-3.

Edstrom added an insurance marker for the Rangers, blasting a shot from the slot at the 11:08 mark of the third period to make it 5-3.

Laba added an empty netter with 51 seconds remaining.
