Rangers SS Corey Seager (hip) could be done for season

Texas Rangers star shortstop Corey Seager was placed on the 10-day injured Wednesday due to discomfort in his hip.
It's possible that the injury will end Seager's season. The Rangers (66-73) were 9 1/2 games behind the Houston Astros in the American League West and 8 1/2 out for the final wild-card berth entering Wednesday's home game against the New York Yankees.
Texas general manager Chris Young indicated the team is waiting on tests before making any season-ending declarations or recovery timelines.
Seager missed Tuesday's game against New York due to the injury. He served as the designated hitter in Monday's series opener.
Seager, 30, is batting .278 with 30 homers and 74 RBIs in 123 games. It marks his third straight 30-homer season for Texas.
The Rangers won the World Series last season and Seager was named MVP of the Fall Classic for the second time. He also won the award in 2020 when the Los Angeles Dodgers won the crown.
Seager has 19 career postseason homers in 78 games.
Seager had surgery in January to repair a sports hernia.
