Mandatory Credit: Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports The Tampa Bay Rays placed outfielder Josh Lowe on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right oblique strain.
The move is retroactive to Thursday, one day after Lowe exited his team's game against the Boston Red Sox.
Lowe took an awkward swing while striking out against Boston starter Brayan Bello in the first inning. He was replaced by Jonny DeLuca when his turn came to bat in the second inning.
Lowe, 26, reportedly has been dealing with injuries to his right hamstring, right oblique and left hip since spring training.
Batting .240 with two home runs and three RBIs in 14 games this season, Lowe is hitting .271 with 24 homers and 99 RBIs in 203 career games with the Rays.
Also on Saturday, the Rays reinstated right-hander Chris Devenski from the 15-day injured list. He had been sidelined due to right knee tendonitis.
Devenski, 33, is 1-1 with a 7.71 ERA, six walks and 11 strikeouts in 14 innings over nine relief appearances.
He is 26-22 with eight saves, a 3.93 ERA in 293 career games (seven starts) for the Houston Astros (2016-20), Arizona Diamondbacks (2021-22), Philadelphia Phillies (2022), Los Angeles Angels (2023) and Rays.
