The Tampa Bay Rays activated right-hander Drew Rasmussen from the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Rasmussen, who has not pitched in the majors since May 2023, will join the Tampa Bay bullpen.

The 29-year-old is returning from his third major elbow surgery in seven years.

He went 0-2 with an 8.59 ERA in five games (two starts) on a rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham.

Rasmussen was 4-2 with a 2.62 ERA in eight starts last season for Tampa Bay before being shut down.

He is 20-10 with a 2.97 ERA in 83 games (46 starts) with the Milwaukee Brewers (2020-21) and Rays.

Tampa Bay optioned right-hander Joel Kuhnel to Durham to make room for Rasmussen on the active roster.
