This season, LaVine is averaging 21.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 11 games, all starts for the Bulls (4-7). He is shooting 40.9 percent and 30.9 percent from 3-point range, down from his career averages of 46.3 percent and 38.2 percent, respectively.
He has career averages of 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
LaVine, 28, is in his 10th NBA season. The Timberwolves selected him with the No. 13 overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft, and in June 2017, he was part of the five-player trade that sent fellow All-Star guard Jimmy Butler to Minnesota.
He is in the second season of a five-year, $215 million contract.
LaVine was an All-Star in 2020-21 and again in 2021-22. The latter is the only season in which his team appeared in the playoffs, and the Bulls lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference first round.
