Report: Dan Snyder Won't Allow Washington To Move On From RGIII
According to a report from ESPN’s Dianna Russini & Adam Schefter, the football operations people in charge of Washington want to get rid of Robert Griffin III. The only thing stopping them? Dan Snyder! Owners getting involved in day-to-day sports decisions almost always ends in disaster, especially when that owner is Snyder.
Here’s the money quote:
But it is becoming increasingly apparent that Griffin has lost his starting quarterback job and, depending on the events and conversations in the coming days, possibly his roster spot. Outside of ownership, there has been a groundswell of support from a strong segment of football people within the organization to change quarterbacks, but there is a question about whether they have the authority to move on from Griffin.
Over the past two weeks, we have Jay Gruden sacrificing RGIII behind a cardboard cutout offensive line, everyone getting mad at him, a possible conspiracy surrounding his concussion diagnosis, and now this revelation that Snyder won’t let anyone do their jobs. This house is divided against itself and the longer it pretends to stand, the funnier it is for all of us.
