Report: Dwyane Wade's Divorce Already At $10 Million In Legal Bills
His ex-wife's public meltdown on a Chicago street corner last month was the best indication yet that Dwyane Wade's divorce has been an utter shitshow. And while Wade did reach a $5 million settlement with his ex, Siohvaughn Funches, a few days later, the battle over custody of their two children has since kicked things back into gear.
Wade first began divorce proceedings with Funches six years ago. Which has added up to a lot of billable hours. Gossip Extra spoke to one of Wade's attorneys. Seems Wade is paying for both his and Funches's legal costs, and that the payments are drawn automatically from a bank account funded partly by Wade's NBA salary and partly from his endorsement earnings.
The source also told Gossip Extra the bills totaled $8 million a year ago, and that "now we're definitely at $10 million"—a figure that's twice what Wade has agreed to pay Funches. Per Basketball Reference, Wade has earned roughly $102 million in his 10-year NBA career, not counting endorsements. Still: holy shit.
Anything else?
“My gut feeling is that he doesn’t even know how much he’s paying (in legal bills),” the source added.
My gut feeling is that he does now.
