Report: Eagles Hire Andy Reid's Offensive Coordinator
The Eagles will hire Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson, according to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News.
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com confirmed the hiring:
Pederson worked as the Eagles’ offensive quality control coordinator from 2009 to 2010, and the quarterbacks coach from 2011 to 2012. When the team fired Andy Reid, Pederson followed him to Kansas City. The two have a history: Pederson was on Reid’s roster when he started coaching in Philadelphia in 1999.
The Chiefs are still in the playoffs, so Pederson won’t leave town until their run is over. Hours after Tom Coughlin reportedly bowed out for the gig, the Eagles get their guy. Or, a guy who was their old guy’s guy.
