Report: Giants Complained To NFL About Steelers' Deflated Balls [Update]
Photo: Jared Wickerham/ [object Object] Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer reports that the New York Giants tested the Pittsburgh Steelers’ footballs during last Sunday’s game and informed the NFL that two of the balls were deflated.
The Steelers aren’t talking about it right now:
The Mara and Rooney families, the respective Giants’ and Steelers’ owners, are close and hold a lot of power within the league. This most likely won’t resemble the complaint that mutated into a bloated, yearlong mess requiring grotesque courtroom sketches and serious press conferences about balls, but with Roger Goodell in charge, anything is possible.
Update (1:11 p.m. ET): The NFL says it hasn’t received a formal complaint.
Update (1:18 p.m. ET): Glazer clarifies that the Giants’ complaint wasn’t formal, but the team did tell the league.
