Report: Kyle Korver Out For The Rest Of The Playoffs With Ankle Injury
The Hawks were probably already dead. Losing the first two game of a series on your own home floor will do that. But now they’re REALLY dead. Atlanta Journal-Constitution Hawks beat reporter Chris Vivlamore reports that the above ankle injury that Kyle Korver suffered in last night’s Game 2 will knock him out of the rest of the playoffs:
Maybe, MAYBE the Hawks could survive a Korver injury if it was their only one, but it isn’t. Thabo Sefolosha has missed the entire playoffs with a police-induced broken leg, and primary LeBron-stopper DeMarre Carroll is battling his own hyperextended knee. Of course, the Cavs have little sympathy for the Hawks. They’re missing Anderson Varejao and Kevin Love, and Kyrie Irving is battling knee tendonitis that knocked him out of last night’s game.
So many key players in this series are injured, but importantly, the best one is not. LeBron James threw down a near-triple-double in last night’s victory, and is playing near his peak. Now it’ll take a Hawks miracle to stop him.
