Report: LeSean McCoy Involved In Brawl That Left Two Off-Duty Police Officers Hospitalized [UPDATE]
ABC 6 in Philadelphia is reporting that Bills running back LeSean McCoy was involved in an incident early Sunday morning that left two off-duty police officers in the hospital.
From ABC 6:
It happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday at the Recess Lounge located at 125 South 2nd Street in Old City.
It was there that McCoy, and a friend, were involved in a physical altercation with the two officers, sources said.
Sources also say that while McCoy and his friend were not arrested, they are the focus of the investigation.
Meanwhile, Dave Schratweiser of Fox 29 is reporting that four NFL players got into a brawl with off-duty police officers in Philadelphia this weekend. Schratweiser doesn’t specifically name McCoy as one of the players involved, but it sure sounds like the same incident ABC 6 reported:
We’ll update as soon as we have more information.
Update (11:53 a.m.): CSN Philadelphia got its hands on the police report, and has identified one guys who was with McCoy as former NFL running back Curtis Brinkley. According to the police report, the brawl started because of an argument over champagne bottles:
The report states that officers Darnell Jessie, Roland Butler and Sergeant Daniel Ayers purchased four bottles of champagne that evening. When Butler “moved to another location with his bottle,” former Pitt football player Tamarcus Porter “approached him and tried to pull the bottle from his hand.” According to the report, “an argument ensued as to the ownership of the bottle,” at which point McCoy, Brinkley and Christopher Henderson “assisted [Porter].” During the ensuing altercation, according to the report, Butler was knocked to the ground and “punched, kicked and stomped about his body and head multiple times.”
Philly.com is also reporting that police are seeking arrest warrants.
