Report: Packers RT Zach Tom likely out vs. Cowboys

Mandatory Credit: Scott Galvin-Imagn Images Green Bay Packers starting right tackle Zach Tom is not expected to play on Sunday night against the host Dallas Cowboys to allow for time to heal from a recurring abdominal injury.
Tom attempted to return from an oblique injury last week but exited the loss at Cleveland almost immediately.
Tom was on the field for just one offensive snap Sunday causing the line to reshuffle during the 13-10 loss to the Browns. The 26-year-old sustained the initial injury in Green Bay's 27-13 victory over the Detroit Lions in the season opener on Sept. 7 before sitting out the team's next game versus the Washington Commanders.
The Packers (2-1) have used 2024 first-round pick Jordan Morgan, rookie second-round selection Anthony Belton and Darian Kinnard at right tackle this season. They've also had to account for the absence of left guard Jordan Brooks, who is in a very similar predicament with a groin injury.
He played briefly in the opener, sat out Week 2 against Washington and tried to play at Cleveland last week before going to the locker room in the first half. He did not return to the game and was replaced by Morgan.
Signed to a four-year, $88 million contract in the offseason, Tom has started 41 of the 45 games in which he has played since being selected by Green Bay in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Wake Forest.
Resting Tom and Banks now would give them more than two weeks to rehab injuries. Following a trip to Dallas, the Packers head into their bye week.
