Report: Patriots Trade Jimmy Garoppolo To 49ers, Now Have Only One Rostered QB
Photo Credit: Jim Rogash/ [object Object] The Patriots are reportedly parting ways with backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, sending him to the 49ers in exchange for a second-round draft pick.
That leaves 40-year-old Tom Brady as the only QB on the Patriots’ roster, after the team traded Jacoby Brissett to the Colts last month.
Garoppolo is in the last year of his rookie contract, meaning that the Patriots were running out of time to figure out what to do with him. Now in his fourth season in the league, he’s started two games in his career (both in 2016, during Brady’s suspension).
