Report: Rapids sign USMNT GK Zack Steffen

According to The Athletic, Steffen will not have to fill a designated player spot and he agreed to a three-year deal with an option for a fourth season. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Steffen previously played in MLS with the Columbus Crew, posting 23 clean sheets in 76 starts from 2017-19.
The 28-year-old joined Manchester City of England's Premier League in 2019 and had loan stints at Fortuna Dusseldorf (2019-20) and Middlesbrough (2022-23).
Internationally, Steffen has recorded 10 clean sheets in 29 caps with the USMNT.
The Rapids declined William Yarbrough's option after the 2023 season, leaving Marko Ilic as the only goalkeeper on the roster.
