Report: Tulane to start Jake Retzlaff at QB vs. Northwestern

Transfer quarterback Jake Retzlaff will start for Tulane against Northwestern on Saturday, ESPN reported.
Retzlaff started at BYU last season and was 11-2 but transferred mid-summer rather than face a lengthy suspension for violating the school's honor code.
He passed for 2,947 yards, throwing 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound quarterback is a redshirt senior.
Brendan Sullivan, who previously was with both Iowa and Northwestern, will dress, ESPN reported. He had been limited in practice by a foot and ankle injury.
Retzlaff and Sullivan are two of four transfer quarterbacks on the roster for head coach Jon Sumrall, who is starting his second season with Tulane.
The Green Wave went 9-5 last season (7-1 American) but lost to Florida 33-8 in the Gasparilla Bowl.
Northwestern finished the 2024 season with a 4-8 (2-7 Big Ten) record.
