Report: Veteran S Justin Simmons visits Saints

Two-time Pro Bowl safety Justin Simmons visited with the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday, per multiple reports.
The Denver Broncos, in a cost-cutting move, released the veteran in March after eight seasons with the team.
Simmons, 30, recorded three interceptions, one sack and 70 tackles in 15 starts with the Broncos last season. He was named to his second Pro Bowl (also 2020).
A third-round pick by Denver in 2016, Simmons racked up 30 interceptions, 64 passes defensed and 604 tackles in 118 games (108 starts) with the team.
The Saints' depth chart at safety includes All-Pro Tyrann Mathieu, 2023 fifth-round pick Jordan Howden and former Raiders first-rounder Johnathan Abram.
Releasing Simmons saved the Broncos $14.5 million against the 2024 salary cap, providing some relief from the $85 million dead money charge incurred by releasing quarterback Russell Wilson.
