Reports: Cardinals lure RB Tyler Allgeier on $12.25M deal
Dec 21, 2025; Glendale, Arizona, USA; Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier (25) carries the ball as Arizona Cardinals cornerback Jaden Davis (26) defends during the first half at State Farm Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Joe Camporeale-Imagn Images Falcons free agent running back Tyler Allgeier is leaving the nest to sign a two-year, $12.25 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals, according to multiple reports.
Allgeier was a productive change-of-pace option to Bijan Robinson in Atlanta, scoring 20 touchdowns in 67 career games with the Falcons.
He has 676 carries for 2,876 yards and joins an Arizona offense under construction with new head coach Mike LaFleur working to put his stamp on the Cardinals. With the Rams, LaFleur's offense often ran through Kyren Williams, a between-the-tackles runner with some similarity in play style to Allgeier.
Injuries wrecked the Arizona backfield last season. In addition to scrambling quarterback Kyler Murray, who played only five games and is expected to be released, the Cardinals lost starter James Conner to a season-ending ankle injury in Week 3 and backup Trey Benson (knee) had his season derailed, too.
Conner restructured his contract to remain with the Cardinals. A team captain who previously played for the Steelers, Conner might not be fully cleared to participate in offseason workouts or be 100 percent during training camp.
