Financial terms were not disclosed about the deal that will keep Brownell with the program through the 2030-31 season.
Per reports, the extension is pending approval from the Clemson board of trustees.
After taking the program to the Elite Eight last season, Brownell was rewarded in July with a contract extension through the 2028-29 season. This extension will replace that one.
Brownell, 56, made $3.5 million this past season, with the number to grow $250,000 every year thereafter.
USA Today's coaches salaries database put Brownell as the 37th-highest paid coach in the nation and fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Bill Self of Kansas and John Calipari of Arkansas each make more than $8 million per season.
He is the program's winningest coach with a 292-195 record in 15 seasons on the job. This season's team set program records for overall wins (27) and ACC regular-season victories (18).
The Tigers made their fifth NCAA Tournament under Brownell's guidance. The fifth-seeded club will face 12th-seeded McNeese on Thursday in an opening-round clash in the Midwest Region in Providence, R.I.
