Mandatory Credit: Kirby Lee-Imagn Images The Washington Commanders are in the market for a pair of new coordinators after parting ways with Kliff Kingsbury and Joe Whitt Jr., ESPN reported on Tuesday.
Kingsbury, the Commanders' offensive coordinator, reportedly is leaving the team to pursue other opportunities.
Per reports, Kingsbury and Washington head coach Dan Quinn met Tuesday and agreed to mutually part ways.
Kingsbury and Whitt, the defensive coordinator, joined the Commanders in February 2024.
Kingsbury, 46, posted a 28-37-1 record during his four seasons as the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. His best season came in 2021 when the 11-6 Cardinals ranked 11th in scoring offense but lost four of their last five regular-season games and were blown out in the wild-card round.
Quinn added the defensive coordinator duties to his tasks in November.
Whitt moved from the coaches' box to the sideline on Nov. 9 but the results were no different in a 44-22 loss to the Detroit Lions.
The Commanders finished last in the NFL in total defense (384.3 yards per game) and 28th against the pass (242.5 yards per game).
Washington was 27th in the league in points allowed (26.5 per game) and gave up 451 total points this season, 60 more than in 2024.
