An entertaining night of boxing in Atlantic City is turning dark as news that the super welterweight bout between James Kirkland and Glen "Jersey Boy" Tapia, won by Kirkland in a sixth-round TKO, left Tapia headed to a trauma center.
Kirkland pummeled Tapia in the sixth, and with the latter clearly dazed and against the ropes referee Steve Smoger attempted to stop the fight. He was too late to keep Tapia from taking one last brutal left hook from Kirkland, as you see above.
