Reports: Guardians bringing back veteran RHP Carlos Carrasco

Carrasco, 36, pitched the first 11 seasons of his major league career with Cleveland before being traded to the New York Mets in January 2021. He was with the Mets for three seasons, going 3-8 with a 6.80 ERA, 66 strikeouts and 38 walks in 90 innings over 20 games (all starts) in 2023.
For his career, Carrasco is 107-93 with two saves, a 4.04 ERA, 1,573 strikeouts and 418 walks in 1,538 innings over 303 games (256 starts).
Carrasco was struck by a line drive on his pitching hand in the final month of the 2016 season and missed Cleveland's World Series run.
The Venezuela native led the American League with 18 wins in 2017, when he went 18-6 with a 3.29 ERA, 226 strikeouts and 46 walks in 200 innings over 32 games (all starts) and finished fourth in the AL Cy Young Award voting.
Carrasco was diagnosed with leukemia in 2019 and missed three months. He was named the 2019 American League Comeback Player of the Year and the winner of the 2019 Roberto Clemente Award, which honors players for their achievements on and off the field.
