Severino spent eight seasons with the New York Yankees. He is a two-time All-Star.
Severino, 29, was just 4-8 with a 6.65 ERA in 19 appearances (18 starts) last season. He served up 113 hits in 89 1/3 innings and struck out 79.
Severino struck out 230 and 220 in back-to-back seasons when he was an All-Star in 2017-18. He went 33-14 during the span, including a career-best 19-8 ledger in 2018.
But he ran into a slew of injuries and made just seven appearances from 2019-21. He underwent Tommy John surgery and missed the entire 2020 season and most of 2021.
In 2022, he went 7-3 with a 3.18 ERA in 19 starts but regressed last season when he dealt with lat and oblique injuries.
Overall, Severino is 54-37 with a 3.79 ERA in 141 career appearances (125 starts).
