Reports: Patrick Mahomes' father arrested on probation violation

Patrick Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was arrested on a probation violation, multiple outlets reported.

Mahomes Sr., 55, was booked into Smith County Jail in Tyler, Texas, on Tuesday two years after he was arrested on a DWI charge and later pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to five years probation at the time.

Mahomes Sr., who pitched in the major leagues for 11 seasons, including five with the Minnesota Twins, has multiple DWI arrests on his record.

This week's arrest came as the elder Mahomes met with his probation officer. A violation of his probation is subject to a potential 10-year jail sentence, according to reports.
