Reports: Tennessee Football Player Arrested For Punching, Choking Woman
Tennessee defensive tackle Alexis Johnson—a junior college transfer who enrolled in January—was arrested Wednesday night and is currently being held in Knox County jail on a 12-hour hold, according to jail records. The Chattanooga Times Free Press obtained the arrest report, and report that Johnson is charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment.
According to the Knoxville CBS affiliate, Johnson was play fighting with a woman he used to date in his on-campus dorm, when the fighting turned violent. The Times Free Press has the gory details:
The report states Johnson repeatedly choked her to the point she could not breathe and felt she was going to pass out, and a witness told police Johnson “appeared to be really punching her” and that the woman’s lip was “busted.”
Johnson “attempted to repetitively touch and kiss her” as she “repeatedly stated that she did not want to have sex with him,” according to the report.
As the woman, who previously dated Johnson on two different occasions, tried to leave bedroom, the report alleges Johnson blocked the door and said, “You think I won’t (expletive) you up?”
According to a university spokesperson, Johnson has been suspended from football activities.
