Mandatory Credit: Troy Taormina-Imagn Images Houston Texans standout safety Jalen Pitre will undergo season-ending pectoral surgery, according to published reports on Wednesday.
Pitre partially tore the pectoral muscle in the first quarter of a Week 12 loss to the Tennessee Titans. He missed one game and then the Texans had a bye last weekend.
The third-year pro has 65 tackles and one forced fumble in 12 games this season.
Pitre excelled as a rookie in 2022 when he racked up 147 tackles and five interceptions in 17 games. He has started all 44 games in which he has played and has 296 tackles and six interceptions.
The AFC South-leading Texans host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Houston guard Juice Scruggs (foot) will also miss the contest.
