Reports: Texas loses Tyrese Hunter, Dillon Mitchell to portal

Mitchell, a forward, is also entering his name into the NBA draft. Mitchell averaged 9.6 points and a team-high 7.5 rebounds for Texas last season over 34 games (33 starts).
Hunter, a point guard, had 11.1 points, 4.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds over 33 games, all starts.
Hunter started his career at Iowa State in 2021-22 before spending two seasons at Texas. He has averaged double-figure points in each of his three college seasons, with career averages of 10.8 points, 3.8 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 steals over 106 games, all starts.
Texas recently added three guards from the transfer portal: Jayson Kent and Julian Larry from Indiana State and Tramon Mark from Arkansas.
