Rex Ryan Turns The Tables, Has Reporter Hold Press Conference
Before the start of his post-practice press conference today, Rex Ryan had Rich Cimini of ESPN New York go up to the podium and subject himself to the questioning Ryan usually faces every day. With Cimini at the podium, Ryan took a seat among the reporters and started off with a typical subject: injuries.
Cimini jokingly provided an answer the way Ryan often does: He said he would have to check with the team doctors while also referring Ryan to Bruce Speight, the Jets' director of media relations.
Ryan also asked something that most coaches, players, and fans would probably like to know, too. Specifically, what is it like knowing you have to ask a dumb, possibly contrived question about, say, a quarterback controversy while also being aware that the coach has no interest in giving an answer? This eventually brought up Tebowmania and all the different ways a roomful of reporters can ask the same question. Ryan admitted, "I absolutely did [get tired of the questions]."
There is a second video of similarly good-natured banter, which you can find over at NJ.com.
