Rhode Island TV News Does Story on Pussy Riot, Won't Say "Pussy Riot"
Hillary Clinton took a photo with Pussy Riot last week, and the former Secretary of State's selfie with the Russian activist rockers went viral. We're not surprised, then, that the story turned up on local news four days after the fact. We are surprised, though, that one TV station tried to cover it without ever saying "Pussy Riot."
Here's a segment from WJAR in Providence tonight, talking about the photo and never once saying Pussy Riot; indeed, they don't go into much about the band's notoriety at all, which must have made viewers wonder why the hell their local news was covering the story. WJAR didn't even mention Pussy Riot in the graphics that accompanied the segment; do Providentians have especially sensitive ears?
