Ric Flair Issued Arrest Order Over Failure To Pay Spousal Support
Pro wrestling legend Ric Flair owes his estranged wife more than $32,000 in spousal support, has been held in contempt of court, and now a judge in Mecklenberg, N.C., has issued a order for his arrest. Wooooo!
The Charlotte Observer says Flair can avoid jail time by paying what he owes Jacqueline Beems, who filed for a legal separation from him last summer after nearly three years as the fourth Mrs. Nature Boy. Flair attributed the failure to pay to the death of his son back in March and to the fact that blood clots kept him hospitalized for a month. "I didn't go to work for three months," he said. Flair, whose real name is Richard Fliehr, said he intends to pay up as soon as today. (He also pays two of his other ex-wives as much as $22,000 a month. Still being a limousine-ridin', jet plane-flyin', kiss-stealin', wheelin-dealin' son of a gun don't come cheap.)
There's more to this feud, too: Beems has also been charged with misdemeanor harassment for allegedly making a series of phone calls to Flair's current girlfriend. She turned herself in yesterday and was released on $500 bond. Flair had called the cops on Beems a few years back, accusing her of assaulting him. Those charges were eventually dropped.
