Rockies Still Aware They're The Chosen Ones
So you remember how the Rockies talked about how they're a Christian clubhouse, and how it raised a big stink and they backed off and lowered their profile? Well, they're at it again, and they're legitimately claiming that their amazing late-season run is the result of God's will.
"You look at some of the moves we made and didn't make," general manager Dan O'Dowd said in the only interview he has given on the subject, long before the Rockies' remarkable ascension over the past few weeks. "You look at some of the games we're winning. Those aren't just a coincidence. God has definitely had a hand in this."
To be fair, that comment was made before the crazy run of the last few weeks. But it's clear O'Dowd thinks it's divine intervention; he knew something was coming. So hopefully the Rockies haven't sinned too much since their series with the Phillies ended; big games this week, and God's will is divine but full of retribution. Sorry, Diamondbacks: This is what you get for coveting thy neighbor's house.

(UPDATE: A correction is in order: It appears those damn Brits just lifted the quote from the original USA Today story. Heck, a blog wouldn't even do that! Regardless, we're sure this is still how O'Dowd feels.)
