Roman Polak Messed Up By Slapshot To The Face

This is what Roman Polak looked like an hour after taking a slapshot to the face: kind of like he's the NHL's latest mumps victim, but then tried to cut the mumps out. He was just minding his own business in the first period of Wednesday night's game against the Capitals, pushing his man away from the crease, when Troy Brouwer unleashed a shot hilariously high and wide. Hilarious, that is, unless you're Polak, who had to leave the game to be attended to. He would later return to the ice though, which is where this picture comes from.
