Samuel Ersson, Aleksei Kolosov help Flyers blank skidding Sharks

Mandatory Credit: Robert Edwards-Imagn Images Samuel Ersson and Aleksei Kolosov combined to stop all 22 shots they faced as the Philadelphia Flyers sent the host San Jose Sharks to their eighth straight loss with a 4-0 victory on Tuesday.
Ersson made 15 saves across two periods before being forced out of the net with an undisclosed injury. Kolosov handled all seven shots he faced in the third to help the Flyers avoid a second straight loss.
Nick Seeler, Ryan Poehling, Travis Konecny and Egor Zamula all scored in the victory, with Jamie Drysdale and Bobby Brink each tallying two assists.
Alexandar Georgiev turned aside 30 of the 34 shots he faced in the losing effort.
Seeler opened the scoring for Philadelphia just under six minutes into the contest with some trickery from behind the goal line, banking a shot off of Georgiev and into the back of the net.
Tyler Toffoli looked to knot the game up for San Jose with under two minutes left in the period, but his quick shot off of an offensive zone faceoff rang off the post.
Poehling doubled the Flyers' advantage at 12:09 of the second period. He picked up a rebound from Zamula and dragged it around Georgiev before depositing it into the open cage. Less than two minutes later, Konecny broke the Flyers' 0-for-19 power-play goal drought with a perfectly placed one-timed shot with 6:16 left to increase the lead to 3-0.
Toffoli found himself on a breakaway with just over four minutes left in the second period, but Ersson turned him away with a glove save.
Zamula increased the lead to 4-0 2:30 into the third period when he sent a harmless shot toward the net from the corner that bounced off a Sharks defenseman and went in.
Philadelphia outshot San Jose 34-22 and had a 20-11 advantage in blocked shots. The Sharks, who have not won since Dec. 12, remain in last place in the Pacific Division.
